Testimonials - from courses at my previous studio.
I wanted to write to say a huge thank you on behalf of myself, Karen and Rachel for such a fantastic day yesterday. As you could tell from the emails prior to the workshop, we were all incredibly excited at the thought of being able to create our own unique pieces of jewellery as our joint 40th birthday treat. The day exceeded all our expectations as it was such a personalised experience and one that enabled each of us to work on our own ideas and utilise different techniques and skills to create our very own masterpieces. We felt you supported us all really well and made the day one that we will never forget.
Please pass on our thanks to your lovely wife for her amazing home cooked lunch. It was so tasty and we could have quite easily stayed at the dinner table and carried on eating all afternoon had we not been so keen to return to our jewellery.
Thank you so much once again and we hope to see you and your wife again (and your gorgeous Ruby) in the not too distant future.

The one day course was fantastic. I couldn't believe how quickly I had made a pair of earrings, and that was just the start of the day! You tailored the day to fit my skills and what I wanted to achieve (and I will be the first to admit, I had no expectations of what I wanted to make over the course of the day) and as mentioned, very quickly I had made some earrings which looked like a proper piece of jewellery. These were followed by a beautiful ring and bracelet, which have both been worn lots. You went through using each piece of equipment and when we were both happy, I was able to use them with minimal supervision which meant I got an understanding of the tools and a truly 'hands on' day. I think this a real endorsement of your teaching skills, when you can teach a lot from the background!

We were 2 total beginners & absolutely loved it! We chose the 2-day course and we were amazed with the quantity and quality of pieces we were able to make, despite being complete beginners! (6 rings, 1 pair of earrings, 2 necklace pendants)
Reasons why we enjoyed it were;
1) Getting immediately stuck into making an actual jewellery piece, without too much theory or practising first.
2) Despite having never done any silversmithing or jewellery making of any sort, we were able to use a variety of techniques to make a selection of beautiful rings, pendants and earrings.
3) David is not only very friendly and welcoming, but a great teacher too - very patient and encouraging, even when we made the odd mistake! (in fact, one mistake was then actually 'salvaged' and turned into one of our favourite pieces)
4) Yummy homemade lunches!
Thanks again :-)

Thank you so much for my wonderful day on Saturday. I mean that literally: if enabling a complete beginner to create such great pieces of jewellery, involving an advanced silversmithing technique, in one day, is not a source of wonder then I do not know what is! I came to your class because you help your students make what they want to make rather than teaching them set pieces. It know that it takes a lot of experience and ability to do that. Even so, I was amazed that you were happy to let me embark upon the decidedly ambitious reticulated lentil. I learned so much and I am so glad that I came. It was an invaluable, solid foundation for my new hobby and it has given me a lot of much-needed confidence.
Thank you, too, to Jenny for a delicious lunch, particularly the mackerel pate – yum!
