My storyHello, I'm David Corbin, teacher, jewellery designer and maker. Following an apprenticeship in engineering I spent my early working life in a variety of industrial environments and in an apprentice training school. Wanting to develop my career further I first gained a Further Education teaching certificate before moving on to study for a BEd. in Design and Technology from the University of Winchester. I then moved in to secondary education where I worked as Head of Department in schools in The New Forest and Southampton.
I have been designing and making jewellery for many years - I first started working with stainless steel and moved on to precious metals. Following early retirement I found out very quickly that I missed teaching, so I built my first jewellery studio in The New Forest 10 years ago and started offering courses and workshops. I've now moved to Hambledon, in the beautiful South Downs National Park, and my new studio is now ready for students. |
"The day exceeded all our expectations as it was such a personalised experience and one that enabled each of us to work on our own ideas and utilise different techniques and skills to create our very own masterpieces."

"if enabling a complete beginner to create such great pieces of jewellery, involving an advanced silversmithing technique, in one day, is not a source of wonder then I do not know what is!"

"We were 2 total beginners & absolutely loved it! We chose the 2-day course and we were amazed with the quantity and quality of pieces we were able to make, despite being complete beginners!"
